Just one year ago Sarah Louise Bryan was homeless. Now she is heading towards her first million after making a dress made from SKITTLES.

The incredible global success of the garment - made from 3,000 of the sweets - has taken Sarah Louise from being penniless to being feted by the rich and famous.

Twelve months ago the former beautician, 27, and her two children were forced to rely on the kindness of friends to keep a roof over their heads

It all began when Sarah Louise had an idea one night when she lay in bed thinking of how she could improve her life and that of her two kids, reports the Birmingham Mail .

Almost in a dream state the idea of creating a dress out of Skittle sweets came to her.

It was to be a moment which changed her life forever.

She got busy to work on the dress which took 180 hours to make, using thousands of the colourful chewy-centre sweets.

Sara Louise, from Sutton Coldfield, who has a 13-year-old son and two-year-old daughter, spent six hours everyday for a month making the dress.

She used more than 145 bags of the sweet treat and about 90 tubes of glue.

She said: “My idea came to me one night when I was falling to sleep - almost dreaming.

“It was like a eureka moment for me - a striking dress made out of Skittles.

“I jumped out of bed and googled the internet to see if it had been done before. I thought the dress would look incredible on Lady Gaga.

“I got busy working on it the next day. It took months to finish.

“I stuck a picture of the dress on social media when I finished and it just snowballed from there. The response was incredible and clothing company Ripleys got in touch with me.

“Since then I have been given my own Sarah Louise Bryan range. I design clothes and handbags for celebrities and the agency I work for will be supplying my clothes to the Kardashians.

“It has been quite an incredible journey. I had a tough upbringing and was placed in foster care.

“I got pregnant at 14 and have a 13-year-old son. Just a year ago I had nothing - I was penniless.

"I couldn’t afford to pay my rent and I never wanted to rack up arrears so I moved out and lived with friends with my two children.

“They were difficult times but I am a fighter. I have always wanted to give my children a better life and was always thinking of ways I could do this. I had an incredible break with the Skittles dress idea and things have just snowballed since.

“I am now renting a lovely home in Sutton Coldfield. I have a sports car and can give my two children all the materialistic things I couldn’t just a year ago. “I am hoping to be a millionaire in the not too distant future. I am proof that no matter who you are and how bad things can get anyone can get themselves out of a bad situation with ideas and drive.

“Now I am mixing with celebrities and get invited to lots of parties. It is like I am living a dream and I never want to wake up from it.”
